Agency Technical Administrators (ATAs) are the internal point person(s) of an agency between the HMIS Lead (All Chicago) and their agency's HMIS users. Their responsibilities include:
- Ensuring accurate and complete data entry for agency
- Having an in-depth understanding of the system and data to generate reports required for different purposes
- Ensure agency compliance with CoC policies and requirements
- Supporting agency users in all areas regarding the HMIS, including but not limited to, training, data quality, and account management.
- Attending bi-monthly meetings to understand current events surrounding the HMIS
ATA HMIS Access allows:
- Access of all of their agency's data and administrative profile, including users' profiles
- Ability to edit and shadow users for the purpose of understanding possible visibility issues
- The user to receive the following:
- Regular agency-specific reports from the HMIS Lead to support compliance
- Communications about HMIS updates
To receive ATA access in the HMIS:
Step 1: Complete New HMIS User training process
*ATAs must have HMIS access. This can be completed all at once or as an upgrade to an existing user.

- Request Training
- An existing ATA must request the training for a new ATA. If your agency does not have an ATA, then a director or another existing user must verify the provided information.
- Complete Training Courses in the LMS
- Complete Virtual Proctored Session
- Receive live HMIS credentials
Step 2: Complete ATA course in the LMS
The training series covers the following:
- Context and Expectations of an ATA
- Administrative Tools in ServicePoint and the Helpdesk
- Reporting: Canned and ART
- Troubleshooting
Step 3: Submit a ticket to the Help Desk upon completion of the course
