What is the Housing Move-in Date (HMID)
This is the date that a participant who is enrolled into a Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) or Rapid Re-Housing (RRH) project, moves into permanent living situation.
A Housing Move-in Date must be documented in the HMIS when all of the following have occurred:
- A lease agreement has been made,
- The participant has received keys and/or access to a unit, and
- The participant has slept a night in the unit
How to Document HMID in the HMIS
The Housing Move-in Date in the HMIS must be:
- Entered for enrolled clients that have moved into permanent housing
- A date on or after the Project Start Date
- A date on or before the Project Exit Date
- Entered in the "Housing Move-in Date" field within the HUD CoC & ESG Update (2024) Assessment
- The only Housing Move-in date in an enrollment
Follow these steps to document a HMID:
Step 1:
Navigate to the client record to the Entry/Exit tab to locate the relevant PSH or RRH enrollment.
*If a client has not been enrolled, create an enrollment by clicking "Add Entry/Exit" and complete the entry assessment for the client.
Step 2:
Add an "Update: Housing Move-in Date" Interim Review on the date the information was received regarding the client's move-in.
The review date must be on or after the Project Start Date.
Step 3:
Enter the Housing Move-in Date within the HUD CoC & ESG Update (2024) Assessment.
This field in the assessment is the data element required to indicate that the client has moved into permanent housing and is now housed.
You may need to navigate to the HUD CoC & ESG Update (2024) Assessment in the "Select an Assessment" window if it is not the default interim assessment for your project.
The Housing Move-in Date must be on or after the Project Start Date.
Step 4:
Add any other updates in the client record.
- For single households, click Save and Exit.
- For multi-person households, click Save and move on to the next step.
Step 5:
Navigate to any other household members and complete Steps 2-4. Each household member must have their own HMID documented within their enrollment.
**Please note that household members can have different HMIDs, depending on when the individual meets all of the outlined criteria for a move-in.
Repeat until all household members have been updated, then click Save and Exit.
