Q22e: Length of Time Prior to Housing.
This question reports on the time the client reported being homeless up until housing in the project. For permanent housing projects, this means the person’s move into a PH bed or unit according to the [housing move-in date]. For all other project types, it means moving into a bed or unit at the project as indicated simply by the [project start date].
Issue: Users report numerous Clients on report falsely reported as Data Not collected.
This issue lies with how the vendor coded this into the system. This question is based on conditional logic. So if the question, "Prior Living Situation" is answered with one of the homelessness answers from the drop down, then another field will pop up. This field, "Approximate date Homelessness Started" is what is being reported in 22e. The vendor coded this question to record an answer regardless of its dependency on "Prior Living Situation". What this means is that it will pull all clients if it's blank, regardless if the field is visible, as “Data Not Collected”.
HUD is aware of this issue.
The current solution is to look through all clients reported as "Data not Collected" for whether or not the “Approximate date Homelessness Started” is visible when entry assessment is viewed. If this is visible and it’s blank, then an answer is required.
After inputting data into this question, hit Save atthe bottom of the assessment.
Next, go back into the entry.
1. Click on the History Box (the colored box next to “Approximate Date Homelessness started”)
2. Delete the blank entry, and hit save at the bottom of the assessment.
If you do not see the Approximate Date Homelessness Started when looking at the entry, then no answer is required.
