In the past, HMIS trainings happened with varied frequency, and agencies had to send their staff to an all day, in-person training that was not specific to their agencies’ needs. To better our capacity to train individuals on HMIS, All Chicago has rolled out an online learning portal to help us bring better training, better resources, and self-paced support to HMIS users in our community.
By taking advantage of our Hybrid Online/In-person New User Training, you and your agency staff can expedite HMIS training. This new method of training allows New HMIS Users to be introduced and onboarded to HMIS at their own pace. Then, New HMIS Users learn how to complete their client's data entry in a single, three hour long, in-person training.
Please continue reading for further details.

After the In-Person training the New HMIS User will be given access to Chicago’s current HMIS system.
Completing the HMIS Hybrid Online/In-Person Training
Only after completing the online course will the New HMIS User be given access to register for one of our bi-weekly in person trainings.
Since it is required that the New HMIS User has their own email account, and has completed the online portion themselves, no one but the intended end HMIS user will be able to register for this in person training.
The In-Person Training
HMIS Hybrid Online/In-Person Training is capped off with one three hour training hosted at All Chicago or DCFS. At the end of the Online training modules, the link to register for the In-Person trainings will be given to the intended HMIS end user who went through the trainings and videos. We will only disclose the time, date, and location of trainings to the intended HMIS end user when they have completed the Online portion of the Hybrid Online/In-Person training.
