Some users may have had HMIS access before, in which the following eligibility criteria will allow the transfer of their access, bypassing the new user training:
- Within the Chicago CoC and
- Currently have access to the HMIS or was active within the last 6 months
If both applies to your (or your new user's) existing or previous HMIS access, you will not be required to complete the complete new user training process:
- If you will be working with the same project types, then you are eligible for a full transfer of access.
- If you will be working with different project types, then you may skip to the following step in the new user training: Complete the Training Courses in the LMS (Learning Management System) - Project-Specific Course
If you (or your user) does not meet both requirements, they will need to complete the full HMIS training again. See this article: Steps of Training and Receiving HMIS Access
In either case, a new account will need to be created after the confirmation from your new ATA of your new role through a Help Desk ticket, providing the following information:
- Name
- Username on the LMS (Learning Management System)
- Expected responsibilities (ex. receiving referrals, read only, reporting, entering/updating client data, etc.)
Projects you need access to - Your HMIS login information used with your previous agency or, at least, what agency you were previously employed at
If you will be working with the same project types, a form will then be provided to collect all the necessary information to create your new HMIS account.
If you will be working with different project types, here are the next steps:
- Review the Introduction to HMIS course
- Through the review, you must re-register for a new HMIS account.
- Complete the corresponding project specific course
- At the end of the course, you must register for a the Virtual Proctored Session.
- Complete the Virtual Proctored Session
- Receive new live credentials
